Spine Africa is delighted to welcome Dr Hein Verhoef to the team.  

Dr Verhoef completed his medical degree in 2011 at the University of Pretoria and specialised in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of KZN and the College of Medicine of South Africa.  He subsequently worked as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgery Consultant before completing a Spinal Surgery Fellowship in 2022 in the Western Cape.

Dr Verhoef has a special interest in spinal surgery, particularly Minimally Invasive and Endoscopic Spinal Surgery. He also has a passion for pain management and regularly performs a variety of interventional pain procedures as part of effective conservative management.  He believes in maintaining a patient-centered approach whilst collaborating with colleagues in a multidisciplinary team to obtain the best results for his patients. Maintaining active participation in ongoing academic activities and contributing to current and future research opportunities in spinal surgery is very important to him, as well as staying abreast of the latest techniques and technology in the spinal surgery field.
