He went on to obtain his Master of Medicine in Neurosurgery (MMed) from the University of the Witwatersrand, together with his Fellowship of the College of Neurosurgeons of South Africa (FC Neurosurg SA) in 2024.

His postgraduate training included serving as a Neurosurgery Registrar at the world's 3rd biggest hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital. Here, he gained comprehensive experience in managing complex cranial and spinal conditions and further contributed to advancing his neurosurgical knowledge through research and teaching. 

Currently, Dr Wiese is further refining his expertise in spine surgery through a fellowship at Zuid-Afrikaans Hospital in Pretoria, focusing on cutting-edge techniques under the mentorship of leading specialists. This aligns with his vision of delivering innovative, minimally invasive procedures that improves patient mobility and quality of life.

Dr Wiese believes in a patient-centred and collaborative model of care. He places strong emphasis on thorough assessment, clear communication, and shared decision-making, ensuring that treatment plans are carefully tailored to each individual. Where appropriate, he prioritises minimally invasive strategies as part of a broader commitment to responsible, evidence-based care.

He remains actively engaged in ongoing professional development and academic advancement, with a continued interest in research and teaching within the field of neurosurgery.
